The participation of people most impacted by the problem should be part of the solution

On 15 March 2018 Mary Robinson spoke at an informal stakeholder dialogue, being hosted as part of the second round of inter-governmental negotiations of the Global Compact on Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.  The stakeholder dialogues are held by the co-facilitators of the process, Ambassador Camacho of Mexico and Ambassador Lauber of Switzerland and offer an opportunity to non-state actors to participate and express views on the process.

Mrs Robinson’s brief statement covered the importance of ensuring engagement from migrants and CSOs in the implementation and follow up of the compact, as well as supporting the current human rights underpinnings of the zero draft.
