On 25th September 2012, The Mary Robinson Foundation – Climate Justice and the World Resources Institute (WRI) held an important meeting on the margins of the 67th UN General Assembly in New York.

The purpose of the meeting was to agree a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Climate Justice Dialogue, an innovative project that will mobilise political will and creative thinking to shape an equitable and ambitious international climate agreement in 2015.

Both organisations are delighted to be working together and building on their respective strengths. WRI brings expertise and a strong reputation in analysis and evidence based research, while the Foundation provides thought leadership on Climate Justice and works to amplify the voices of those most affected by the impacts of climate change.

The MOU was signed by Mary Robinson, President of the Foundation and Andrew Steer, President of WRI. Mary Robinson expressed her excitement at ‘the potential of the project to facilitate an inclusive global dialogue and to shape a new climate justice narrative supported by a solid evidence base that can drive the urgency and ambition needed to reach an equitable climate agreement in 2015’.
