Case Study: Linking local agriculture into national policy by studying climate change economics in Colombia

Participatory research, using the FAO’s Aquacrop model, is investigating crop
yields under several climate change scenarios, and feeding the findings in to
a national, cross-sectoral economic model. Stakeholders, from farmers to national
decision makers, are using the same model to guide their decisions. The project
will contribute to a National Adaptation Plan for Colombia, and be scaled across
farming communities.
