The Mary Robinson Foundation – Climate Justice is pleased to announce the appointment of a Chief Operating Officer.
Following a public competition Ronan Murphy has been appointed to the post and will take up the position with effect from 1st October 2011.
Ronan Murphy was a career diplomat with the Department of Foreign Affairs; he took early retirement in 2008 and his final position was Director General of Irish Aid. Previously Ronan had been Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the International Organisations in Vienna and Ambassador to the Russian Federation.
During the period 1999/2002 Ronan took leave of absence from the Department of Foreign Affairs and worked with Mary Robinson as a Senior Adviser when she was UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
